2022 Raw Power Shiraz

Rawley Power, the creator of this bold red wine, has quite the story. Rewind 20 years, and Rawley was screaming into the ears of punk music fans across Australia as the frontman of the punk band 'Anti-Power.' His intense vocals became known among hardcore fans as the 'Raw Power Show,' as his voice fueled the energy of mosh pits in garage venues. Fast forward two decades, and while life has changed, Rawley’s "my way" attitude remains the same. Now, instead of belting out punk anthems, he's crafting wine with the same rebellious spirit. Punk singer turned winemaker—Raw Power.

Raw Power Shiraz is an everyday table wine that punches above its weight—distinctive, complex, and medium-to-full bodied, offering incredible value. It’s an Adelaide Plains wine through and through.

The 2022 Raw Power Vintage

The 2022 vintage marked a pivotal moment for Adelaide Plains grape growers, as one of the state's largest wineries decided to end many of their supply contracts. This move left local growers in a bind, as the region had often been treated as a backup vineyard, exploited when the big wineries were short on fruit, but easily overlooked in times of surplus.

In February 2022, Rawley Power stepped in with his "My Way" attitude, telling local growers, "I’ll take it from here, fellas." Partnering with a few dedicated growers already supplying to Old Plains Wine Co., Rawley re-launched Raw Power Shiraz. His goal? To support local livelihoods by keeping the fruit and the brand rooted in Adelaide Plains, giving the region a wine they can proudly call their own.

What The Critics Are Saying

"You don’t see flavour, technical expertise and distinct regional character at this price all that often— It’s a tidy, smooth-skinned wine with a heap of impact for the asking price."
90 Points—Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
